You play as a soldier who follows their Captain into a mysterious portal and ends up in the strange lands of Terragaya. You. Have to find your captain and find a way out of this weird land.

Souldiers game

Pick Your Style

Before your adventure begins, you pick one of three classes.

The Recruit who is more tanky and favors close combat. He can take more hits than the other classes.

The Archer who favours long range combat. As you would expect, keep far away and shoot.

The Mage, who is a glass cannon type medium range combat. The Mage is somewhere in the middle with medium range combat but low health. Its attacks will track the closest enemy.

There are gems that your character can equip on the fly. These gems will give your attacks an element that can be exploited to increase damage if monsters are weak to the element. If they are not, the damage maybe lower. This gives, like most platformers, an element of strategy to fights, exploration and puzzle solving.

Keep It Simple

Souldiers does one thing and one thing well, it keeps things simple. Anyone who has played a metroidvania will have no problems picking up and playing. The controls are jump, dodge, attack, items and special attacks. To help even more, they are all on the HUD.

Overall Souldiers is a great metroidvania that will challenge even an old hand at these styles of games. There is plenty on offer and the game will last a good few hours.

Overall, Souldiers will keep you busy for a while and a must buy.
