Why would KEMCO want to produce a golf game? Of course… it is a type of RPG game. ArticNet has combined ARPG and gold in to a strange amalgamation that on some level works. I am not even going to start with the title’s pun.

The story of RPGolf Legends is straightforward, and you know what you are going to get.

Evil has sealed all the golf holes in the world. One day, you come across the spirit of a golf club. For thereon, you will need to travel the world, unlocking fifth-four course to save golf.

And that is all she wrote. The story is simple, something KEMCO is known for. This will allow the player to get in to the swing of the game quicker.

RPGolf Legend is both a golf game and an ARPG. With plenty of swinging to be done, on and off the course. The golf aspect plays and looks like an arcade style SNES golf game and it is simple beautiful . With a few simple controls and mechanics to master.

When you are on a course, the objective is to get a wee ball over to the flag of hope and in the hole by whacking it with a bent stick, while trying not to get stuck in the obstacle placed to mess with your fun. In as little whacks as possible.

To do this is fairly simple. After interacting with the ball, the viewpoint will move to the max range of the current club. Aim where you would like to hit the ball, then it’s time for the swing. To hit the ball, you will get a power bar that fills and lowers automatically and you select where to stop the power. Followed by a bar that gives a bit more control over the shot, and if it will travel left or right in flight.

Not only does your ability affect your game, but the area you are in and the weather will affect the game. There are six different areas, each with their own unique area type. Desert, swamp and so on, these areas will change how the ball travels. There is also the wind and rain to contend with. These little changes add a new play style needed to finish the holes.

The idea is to finish in as few strokes as possible. The lower the strokes, the better the reward.

Get Off The Course!!

RPGolf Legends is a hack-and-slash style RPG. That sees you killing monsters and animals to gather the energy needed to unlock the next course. The attack and special abilities are simple enough. Attack, dodge and block; just keep hitting the enemies in the face till they die.

There is a simple class system that will unlock as you level up and open more courses. These new classes, as you wander around, you will meet NPCs that will give you new clothes (level dependant). These will give you a new special attack. It also will also affect the way you play golf.

All good RPGs need dungeons, RPGolf Legends have them, that have puzzle solving elements and monsters to fight. We can equip loads of unique items to help in these areas. There are loads of side quests, to gain exp to level up, money and items to use. New clubs to buy and so on.

And of course FISHINGGGGGG!!

When I started RPGolf Legend, I was not sure what I was getting myself in to, or even if I would like it. After playing for the first hour, I was hooked. The game is designed for pickup-and-play and being casual in both combat and golf. With a load on offer.

It surprised me how good and addictive RPGolf Legend was. I would say it is worth playing for good old arcade fun.
