NIS Classic Volume 2 – Makai Kingdom: Reclaimed Rebound
In Makai Kingdom follows the most ‘powerful and badass’ Overload, destroys his own Netherworld. In order to save himself from the destruction, Zetta was was forced to seal himself inside a book he wants to destroy.
After the destruction of Zetta’s netherworld, he cannot move on his own and most of his power is sealed. Zetta now needs to rely on the other Overlords to get his netherworld and hopefully his body.
NIS Classic Volume 2 – ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman
ZHP’s story revolves around a Super Hero. This Super Hero is called the Absolute Victory Unlosing Ranger, the only hero that can defeat the Demon General Darkdeath Evilman. The Domon General has kidnapped Super Baby, and the world is in shock.
The Unlosing Ranger sets off to save the day and gets hit by a car and dies. Before he dies, he passes on his powers to an onlooker (the player) and the weakest main character in history. Now the player has to go on training to power him up. Etranger has the uphill battle.
Each of the two games in NIS Classic Volume 2 focuses on both the good and the bad. In the usual NIS comical style.
NIS Classic Collection Volume 2 – Makai Kingdom: Reclaimed Rebound
In Makai Kingdom plays as you would expect from a Disgaea, with Zetta summoning party members into battles and moving them around as you would in any turn based RPG.
With party members being summoned from objects in Zetta’s new compact Netherworld. Doing this will allow for the different classes to have different base stats. For instance, summoning from a rock will increase defence. Allowing for different strategies to be used.
The only difference that we get from the initial release here in the west is Petta mode. This allows for the player to experience a new story revolving around Zetta’s Daughter Petta in the future.
NIS Classic Collection Volume 2 – ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman
In ZHP, you will play through procedurally generated dungeons as you try to level up to defeat Darkdeath Man. To do this, you must travel though the dungeons defeating the enemies in turn-based dungeon Crawling style, attacking the enemy when they are next to you. As you travel through these dungeons, you will find weapons, armour, health, and food.
Like a lot of these rogue-like styled games, the weapons, and armour degrade every use until basically useless. There it does change is the armour will give you special abilities to help traverse the dungeons. For example, tank treads to negate trap damage.
The enemies are visible on the map and so is their visual range. As long as you do not enter this field, you are free to explore. This is important, as each action taken will lower your hunger level. When empty, you lose HP until you die. Food replenishes the hunger meter.
When you die the exp, you gathered will be added and if you level up, it will boost base stats and allowing to get further in to the dungeons. As the Unlosing Ranger’s base power is higher.
Overall, NIS Classic Collection Volume 2 has two cracking games in one great package. Both games are fantastic and worth a replying or first time play as they are brilliant games. And a good 200 plus hours of playtime.
More so than the Volume 1 the NIS Classic Volume 2 is a must own for tactical RPG fans and dungeon crawler fans.
