For anyone who has worked in a fast-food restaurant will tell you, it can be a stressful day. Happy’s Humble Burger Farm has turned up the grill and set everything on fire, all the while laughing at you. Will the fire take you or will you muddle through?

It’s your first night on the job at Happy’s Humble Burger Farm. You have your employee handbook and no time to do everything you need to do. With one slight exception, Happy is always watching you, and do not make her mad. Really don’t!

Happy's Humble Burger Farm mistake

Burger Flipping

It is your first night, and the bus is off. You will need to walk to work through New Elysian City. From the start you can tell something is not quite right, not sure if it is the strange inhabitances or how everything feels a little off. Anyway, you travel to your job at Happy’s Humble Burger Farm.

Now at work you have to clock in, in order to start your shift, turn on the kitchen and open the store. Then in comes the customers. You will get their order and prepare it, then get paid. If you get stuck, then you can always check your employee handbook. Simple game over. Was an easy review.

Happy Is Watching

There is more to your shifts. Not only do you have to contend with more complex orders from customers, there are a few distractions to deal with. There are shadowy figures that will enter by the back door and try to blow you up (cos’ reasons). Along with other critters turning off lights and the kitchen units. Making your shift harder. Let’s not forget the random events that will make life even harder.

While preparing the orders, there are two major factors to consider. There is a time limit as it is fast food. And make three mistakes Happy will not be happy.Happy is the cow mascot for Happy’s Humble Burger Farm. However, if she gets made, you best get ready to appease her or she will kill you (talk about tough bosses).

If you make three infractions in on a shift, the restaurant will change from normal to hell. Where you can hear something moving about. Happy changes from a nice cow to a twisted evil and down right disgusting monster. The only way to calm her is to feed her rotten patties to calm her. You really do not want to meet Unhappy Happy.

With all these things happening in a short time, the game can get hectic and stressful. I felt overwhelmed, but it is always a good challenge not to be eaten by a mad cow.

The Shift Is Over

You survived your first shift and maybe even a few shifts now, and you gave some hard earned money. What will you do with your down time? You could just go to bed and do it all again. Or you can take a trip in to New Elysian City and see what the city has to offer.

The city is a must see, from a Dr’s to heal you if you are injured, to a bar to hangout. However, the city is just as strange if not stranger. There are some weird boss fights, hidden items to find, and upgrades buy to make work life easier. As you collect things around the city, you can take it to Steal ‘n’ sell in order to sell them. This will give you extra money, as well as allow you to buy upgrades.

I love the city area. There is so much to do, and it feels like the city is the actual game area. With the restaurant being a means to an end, just like real life.

Overall Happy’s Humble Burger Farm has far more to offer than just a restaurant management sim. There is a horror twist and a massive city to explore and loads of weird to compete with.

I have to say it surprised me with how much I enjoyed Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, more so when I realised the City has lots going on. This is one to keep an eye on as it may surprise you.
