One activity I used to love when I was younger was skiing. Around age eleven, I was a skiing instructor at my local dry slope. I had to give it up because of family reasons, but I have never lost the love for it. So when I heard about Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands, I had to check it out.

The only story here is – Relax and have fun.

Grand-Mountain-Adventure-Wonderlands game

Time To Relax

Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands is set around Ten different open world ski locations around the world. Each of the massive mountain ranges has multiple challenges and collectables to find. In the challenges, you will earn ski lift passes that will unlock higher peaks and harder challenges. Eventually unlocking a new mountain range to explore.

The game does not push you to join in with any of the challenges within the game. It is possible to go into Zen mode and just ski or snowboard at your own pace. Movement is as simple as moving left and right on the left stick to build up speed, then turn like normal. It is possible to perform tricks after a jump or grind on rails. For added fun.

Camera Angel

The camera is fixed to a top down looking up the mountain setting, with your skier in the middle of the screen. For most of the action, it is not a big deal. However, as the camera is fixed, it can hinder the progress a bit with some turns or you will miss some poles as they can be obstructed and hard to see. If you mess up just a quick press of a button, you can start again. I guess that helps?

Overall Grand Mountain Adventure is a fun wee game that can be relaxing if you like skiing or snowboarding. There is plenty to do in each area. It will not be for everyone, but it does what it says so you know what you’re getting in to.

I recommend being sure you want to play Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands, as it has a hefty price tag. I would wait for a big sale.
